Ann Humble Receives the Cubitt Award
The Pony Club held their annual Cubitt Awards ceremony at Stratford Manor, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire on Monday June 8th.
The Pony Club acknowledges that volunteers are the lynchpin of its success and The Cubitt Awards are a way to honour those that have passed the landmark of at least twenty years of voluntary help; a total of 33 volunteers attended the ceremony to receive the award this year.
We were delighted when Ann Humble who has been a friend to our branch was accepted for her Cubitt Award nomination. Ann has been a brilliant friend to our branch opver the years and this was a wonderful way for the Pony Club to acknowledge her contribution.
The awards are named after the late Hon Guy Cubitt, who was the Chairman of The Pony Club for 25 years and President from 1970 - 1979. This year's awards were aptly presented by Lady Carew and Sylvia Dallas, daughters of the Hon Guy Cubitt, and Lady Carew spoke to the award winners about her father, what The Pony Club meant to him and her happy memories of The Pony Club which is currently celebrating its 80th Anniversary.
Cherry Michell, Chairman of The Pony Club, commented ‘The Cubitt awards are always a special day for all involved, a great opportunity to give our volunteers the recognition they deserve, and we are so grateful to Sylvia Dallas and Lady Carew for attending and giving our volunteers a wonderful speech.'
